The International School Chess Union (ISCU) WORLD SCHOOL CHESS CHAMPIONSHIPS 2013 Porto Carras, Halkidiki - GREECE, 6-15 May 2013 Tournaments for school students in categories OPEN U7 U9, U11, U13, U15, U17 / GIRLS U7 U9, U11, U13, U15, U17 GENERAL REGULATIONS 1. INVITATION The ¨FIDE Chess Academy of Thessaloniki", the World Chess Federation (FIDE) and the Greek Chess Federation have the honour of inviting all National chess federations and eligible players in the World School Championships 2013 organised in Porto Carras - Halkidiki, Greece from 6th May (arrival) to 15th of May (departure) 2013. 2. PARTICIPATION – AGE LIMITS 2.1. Each National Federation or FIDE Chess Academy may enter an unlimited number of players in each of the 12 age groups. In case that one girl group is less than 10 participants then it will be merged with the same open age group category. 2.2. Entitled to participate are players (Boys & Girls) who shall not have reached the age: Of 7, by 1st January 2013 (date of Birth – January 1st, 2006 and after) – Tournament Under 7; Of 9, by 1st January 2013 (date of Birth – January 1st, 2004 and after) – Tournament Under 9; Of 11, by 1 st January 2013 (date of Birth – January 1st, 2002 and after) – Tournament Under 11; Of 13, by 1 st January 2013 (date of Birth – January 1st, 2000 and after) – Tournament Under 13; Of 15, by 1 st January 2013 (date of Birth – January 1st, 1998 and after) – Tournament Under 15; Of 17, by 1 st January 2013 (date of Birth – January 1st, 1996 and after) – Tournament Under 17; Upon arrival, captains or players may be requested to present the passports of their players for verification of age eligibility. 2.3. All participants, coaches and delegation members are obliged to register and book through the Organising Committee to the official hotel. The access to the playing areas and event venues will be allowed only to the accredited persons of each delegation. 2.4. Accommodation and travel expenses will be covered from the participants, federations, schools and their Sponsors. Delegations of players must be accompanied at least by an adult (chief, coach or parent), who is taking care about the travel details. Each delegation is responsible for their members travel insurance coverage. 2.5. The Organizing Committee will host for free (9 nights full board) the FIDE World School Champions 2012 (6 Girls and 6 Boys). 3. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY - FEES 3.1. Each participant must pay 30 EUR to the Organizing Committee as a registration fee. 3.2. In accordance with FIDE regulations an entry FIDE fee of 40 EUR is required for each player. Their National Federations must send this amount directly to FIDE or to the Organizing Committee in Halkidiki before the start of the first round.
